We’re so glad you’re here. We want to make your first visit easy. Here’s what you need to know before your first class.
FIND YOUR STARTING POINT
Not sure which class is right for your dancer? Don’t worry, we will help you find the best place to start. Class recommendations are made first by a child’s age/grade level. Then we factor in previous experience, if applicable.
Our SCHEDULE is color coded by grade level. First, find your child’s age/grade color. Then take a peek at the schedule to see what class blocks correspond with your color. For our youngest dancers, we offer a variety of mixed-style classes so that young ones have a chance to explore. As dancers progress into our Beginner and Intermediate training programs, we offer individual style classes both by age and skill level.

TRY A CLASS
Create your FAMILY PORTAL account, choose your class, and you’re good to go. You’ll need to acknowledge our safety and photography waivers. The registration page will only show you classes available at your dancer’s age/grade level. Don’t see what you’re looking for? No worries, just reach out and a member of our team will assist you. You’ll also receive a confirmation email and reminder before the class so you can’t miss it!
GET DRESSED
Dancers taking a trial class can attend in comfortable clothing that they can move freely in. We recommend leggings, athletic shorts, and well fitting tees or tank tops. Dancewear is welcome should you have it. No jeans, please, and for hip hop wear clean sneakers. If you don’t have shoes yet, no problem! Take a peek at our DRESS CODE for more info.
PACK YOUR BAG
Dancers should bring dance shoes (if you have them) and a water bottle. If you don’t have shoes for your first class, that’s ok! We also have a water bottle filling station in the lobby. Dancers taking multiple classes are encouraged to bring a snack.
WHAT IF MY CHILD IS NERVOUS?
That’s completely normal! Our teachers are experienced in welcoming new dancers and helping them to feel comfortable. You can stay nearby, and our team will help your dancer ease into the experienceat their own pace.
HIT THE ROAD
Art In Motion is located in the Keytstone Mill building at 122 Pleasant Street in Easthampton, MA.
- park in the lot across the street from the mill complex
- enter through the glass doors
- take a left past the salon
- look for the big blue sign on your right
We recommend arriving 10min early for your first class so that you can check in at the lobby desk and get settled.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Loved class? Great! Our office staff can help you to get registered, fit you for shoes if you need them, and help you to order dance apparel from our online shop. If the class wasn’t your child’s favorite, we can help to find another option that will be even more fun (but we think you’ll love it).
