A porch and a plan. We sat down last summer with a vision for Art In Motion and devised ways to bring it to life. Not knowing what to expect from this year’s challenges, we set out to create a community first and a location second. Our mission was to bring people together safely, to keep sharing our love for dance and movement while we found a space to take root. More often than not, the phrase “bloom where you are planted”, became a mantra, as we offered classes in friend’s backyards, local parks, The Boylston Rooms… even a concrete showroom and a ping pong center…almost in a would-be pickle ball court, but that’s a story for another time.

Despite the unique locations, we were inspired every day to teach our dancers, and to watch as they learned and grew. They overcame the challenges, met us with enthusiasm, and became the dancers, artists, and performers you will see today. Our AIM community is small but mighty, and together we have accomplished so much this year. We are grateful to have each and every one of you and we cannot wait to see what the future holds.
